Product Stewardship Program

As a supplier of ecologically manufactured fully vitrified tiles, our company understands that corporate social and environmental responsibility goes beyond the point of sale and warranty periods. For this reason, the adhesives used in the installation process must be VOC free adhesives.

In conjunction with Veolia Australia and New Zealand, one of Australia’s leading environmental services providers with over 30 years industry experience in implementing effective, innovative and sustainable waste management, we have developed a Product Stewardship Process that enables the tiles at the end of their life, to be 100% recycled. Veolia is a Gold Partner of the NSW Government’s Sustainability Advantage Program. This status recognises their demonstrated significant environmental achievements.

Veolia have identified that Earp Bros tiles - as an uncontaminated load at end of life, can be taken to Recycling facilities in the Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle areas, and recycled through crushing for use in building materials, tiles, road bases, bedding sands or aggregates.

End Of Life Process

For any of Earp Bros customers that would like to ensure that their tiles are not taken to landfill at end of life,  we encourage them to take the following steps:

  1. Call Veolia’s Customer Service Centre on 132955.
  2. Request a bin for tiles which will be taken to the closest approved recycling facility.
  3. At the recycling facility, the tiles will be crushed and reused in building materials, road bases, bedding sands and aggregates.
  4. Price will be given on application, subject to bin availability, size and location.
  5. All costs are the responsibility of the owner, builder or other party, but not Earp Bros.

The Earp Bros Product Stewardship Policy represents a significant green initiative by the company that considers a Cradle-to-Cradle or Open Loop Production Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)1, where the end-of-life disposal step for the product is a recycling process. This method is used to minimise the environmental impact of products by employing sustainable production, operation, and disposal practices.

To our valued customers, the Earp Bros Product Stewardship – an integral component to the EcoSpecifer Global GreenTagTM certification recognised by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA), heralds a new, coherent, and environmentally responsible approach to waste management that provides your mark of eco product confidence.
